Children Committee

The Muslaf’s Children Committee

 The Children Committee was formed to organize a conducive learning environment and take care of the need to provide qualitative Islamic education for the children. This follows in the footstep of Prophet’s command that we seek knowledge from cradle to grave. Also, on the back of the first Qur’anic verse that was revealed to prophet Muhammad (SAW): “Read! In the name of your Lord, Who has created all that exists”. On this account the Children Committee set out ensuring that equal attention was given to all children according to their age, prior Islamic knowledge as well as welfare and security within the mosque.

Objective of Committee

To foster the development and growth of quality education in an Islamic environment primarily by overseeing and facilitating qualitative Islamic education and stability of class structures for children aged 4 years and above.

Executing the Task

 The Committee carried out its assigned task by developing a well structured curriculum and recruiting some of the best teachers around. Data on 80 registered children were used to identify and segregate children into different classes. As a result, 30 children were placed in the Beginner Class, 32 in the Junior Class and 18 in the Teenagers Class. In addition, Four Teachers were sourced to engage children in various activities. Such as;

  1. Afeez’ul Quran (Memorization Class for boys)
  2. Afeeza’l Quran (Memorization Class for girls)
  3. Junior Tajweed and Memorization Class
  4. Beginners Class

There are also Support Teachers amongst the sisters. Alhamdulillahi all these classes are running successfully insha Allah (SWT)

Future Programmes of the Committee

The Committee is proposing to host a weekly outdoor event specifically for the children.

Conclusion.

The Prophet (PBUH) is reported to say, “The best of you is one who gives a good education (intellectual and moral) to his children”. Also the Prophet (PBUH) said, “He who provides good upbringing to 3 daughters shall go to Paradise”. A man asked, “what if one has only two daughters”. “He also shall go to Paradise”. Another man asked, “and what if one has only one daughter?” “He too”, replied the Prophet (PBUH). What more can be said in support of the need for us all to rally together to provide the best education for our children.
